How to Record Your Actions on the Laudato Si’ Action Platform

Posted April 22, 2026

Many people are already caring for creation in quiet, meaningful ways—reducing waste, helping their community, or protecting nature in small daily choices. The Laudato Si’ Action Platform allows you to record those actions so they become part of a shared global effort.

If using a website feels unfamiliar, you are not alone. This guide will walk with you step by step.

Step 1: Logging In

Open your internet browser and go to the Laudato Si’ Action Platform.

Click “Log In,” enter your email and password, and sign in.

If something doesn’t work:

  • Check your email spelling
  • Make sure your password uses correct capital letters
  • Or click “Forgot Password”

Step 2: Finding Your Dashboard

After logging in, you will arrive at your dashboard—your personal space.

Here, you may see:

  • Your progress toward a certificate
  • Other pages like reflections, plans, or profile settings

For now, focus on “My Actions.”

Click “My Actions” to continue.

Step 3: Completing the Short Survey

If this is your first visit, you will see a short survey. It takes less than two minutes.

You may see questions about:

  • Energy use in your area or
  • Access to services like healthcare or banking

There are no right or wrong answers. Simply answer honestly based on what you know.

Click “save” when finished. After submitting the survey, the platform will generate suggested actions for you.

This may take a few moments. If nothing appears:

  • Refresh the page (look for a circular arrow near the top of your browser)

Step 4: Exploring the Action Categories

Now you will see actions grouped under goals inspired by Laudato Si’, such as:

  • Adoption of Sustainable Lifestyles
  • Community Resilience and Empowerment
  • Ecological Economics
  • Ecological Education
  • Ecological Spirituality
  • Response to the Cry of the Earth
  • Response to the Cry of the Poor

Click into one category to see available actions.

Take your time here. This is not a test. It is a moment of reflection.

Step 5: Choosing (or Creating) an Action

This is where your experience becomes meaningful. Pause for a moment and ask yourself:  “What is one small thing I can begin this week?”

You might choose an action like:

  • Composting food waste at home
  • Recycling more intentionally
  • Planting flowers that support pollinators
  • Encouraging your parish or community to speak about a local issue

You Can Also Add Your Own Unique Action

At the bottom of each list of suggested actions, you will find a space where you can add your own action.

This is important. Not every meaningful action will appear in the suggested list and that’s okay. If you’ve done something unique, you can still record it.

To add your own action:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the list
  2. Find the blank field
  3. Type a short description of your action
  4. Save or add it

Once added, it will count just like any other action. If it helps care for people and our common home, it belongs here.

Step 6: Carrying Out Your Action

Now go and do the action. Some actions can be done in a day. Others take more time.

Every action starts with a simple step. Put your commitment into practice. Then return to your account on the Platform and make it visible the wider church.

If you can, document your experience:

  • Take a photo
  • Write a few notes
  • Reflect on what you observed

These small details help bring your action to life. You can even share your story with others by sending it to the Platform team at info@laudatosiactionplatform.org, helping inspire people around the world.

Step 7: Marking Your Action as Completed

After completing your action, return to the platform. Go back to “My Actions.”

Find your action and look for a small circle next to it.

Click the circle to mark it as complete.

Step 8: Seeing Your Progress

Once you mark your action, your progress will update automatically. You will see a bar graph or progress display at the top of the page. This shows how your actions connect to the different Laudato Si’ goals. Over time, you will begin to see your contribution grow.

A Final Thought

This process is not about technology or perfection. It is about making visible the good that is already happening. Each action—no matter how small—is part of a larger story of care, responsibility, and hope.

You are already part of that story.
