We are pleased to announce the fourth conference of the cycle, ” Animals and the Church.”
This year’s topic is “Christian perspectives on farmed animals.”
It will take place at the Centre Sèvres, Paris (in person and online)
on Thursday, 8 June 2023, from 9.15 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.
The current sensitivity to animal suffering and the ecological crisis questions the use of animals in animal agriculture. What Christian perspectives can shed light on the abolitionist currents advocating for the abolition of animal farming and the “welfarist” currents insisting on animal welfare? Based on the British experience of the Christian Ethics of Farmed Animal Welfare, this day will bring together farmers, animal activists, philosophers, and theologians to transform how we look at, relate to, and use farmed animals.
