Cultivating Strategy and Action: Case Studies in Integral Agroecology

The third Down to Earth Dialogue, organised by the Integral Ecology Research Network at Campion Hall, University of Oxford, draws inspiration from agroecology case studies in Uganda and Kenya.
Sr Mūmbi Kīgūtha, CPPS will guide a wisdom dialogue between:
  • Prof Emmanuel Katongole, Professor of Theology and Peace Studies in the Keough School of Global Affairs, University of Notre Dame; co-founder and president of the Bethany Land Institute, Uganda.
  • Sr Monica Omondi, FSJ, Kenyan agroecologist. She researches the use of organic nutrient sources, including Black Soldier Fly frass, chicken manure, and fish sludge, in bioponic systems to improve the yield, quality, and safety of African Indigenous Vegetables.
In the second part, participants will be invited to share their experiences, and reflect on the tools and techniques they can develop in their own context. In a spirit of integral agroecology, we will also reflect on the role of faith, wisdom, and spirituality in land-based practices.
