Integral Ecology Research Network, Laudato Si' Research Institute
26/03/2026 Remote
Date: Thursday 26 March 2026
Time: 13:30-15:00 GMT
Format: Online (Zoom)
We are delighted to offer a workshop for wisdom and faith-based communities, bringing together theological, spiritual, and indigenous voices to enrich agroecological practices.
How does faith shape the way we tend the land, and the communities that depend on it? This second session of the Down to Earth Dialogues, organised by the Integral Ecology Research Network (IERN), brings into conversation Indigenous wisdom and institutional theology in the field of Integral Agroecology.
The session, hosted by Sr Mūmbi Kīgūtha CPPS, will open with a wisdom dialogue between Dr Matthew Whelan (theologian of agroecology), Daniela Alba (Mhuysqa territory, Colombia), and María Candelaria Rodríguez Hernández from the Yomol A’tel cooperatives, Chiapas, Mexico. Together, they will explore how spiritual traditions, lived indigenous knowledge, and Catholic social thought converge in practices that restore soil, community, and dignity.
Participants from around the world are invited to bring their own experiences of where spiritual life and land-based practice meet. The session includes a live Q&A and a short workshop.
The session will be offered in English and Spanish. Upon registration, you will gain access to the Participant Portal. The portal contains resources and optional reading materials to consult before and after the session.
The Down to Earth Dialogues, a series organised by the LSRI/IERN and hosted by Sr Mūmbi Kīgūtha CPPS, foster community and support the practice of Integral Agroecology. We welcome partnership and collaboration proposals for the Dialogues. To enquire, contact Marianna Beltrami (marianna.beltrami@campion.ox.
