Webinar: “Ecological Spirituality: How are peace and integral ecology interrelated?”

In Laudato Si’ Pope Francis writes “The rich heritage of Christian spirituality, the fruit of twenty centuries of personal and communal experience, has a precious contribution to make to the renewal of humanity” (LS 216) and “An adequate understanding of spirituality consists in filling out what we mean by peace, which is more than the absence of war” (LS 225).

He emphasized this again in his message for this year’s World Day of Prayer for Creation, when he said that justice and peace can flow when we maintain a right relationship with God, with humanity and with nature.

What is “ecological spirituality”, and how can it contribute to maintaining those right relationships? And what does peace have to do with our work for integral ecology? Join us on October 5 to hear Marie Dennis, Senior Program Director for Pax Christi International’s Catholic Nonviolence Initiative and an experienced teacher of peace, and how she lives Christian spirituality and follows examples like St. Francis of Assisi in taking bold steps to build peace and protect all of creation.
