ARRCC Divesting from fossil fuels for Catholic Dioceses

Catholic institutions are urged to divest from fossil fuels as a ‘moral imperative’, so Catholic Dioceses are beginning to seek ways of integrating this into their Laudato Si Action Plans.

In this online webinar, participants will be offered practical, expert support regarding fossil fuel divestment in the complex context of Catholic Dioceses. This webinar would be especially suited to diocesan Finance teams but we also welcome Bishops, diocesan staff and social justice advocates. It is being organized by the divestment working group of ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change).

We plan to cover: Catholic moral values behind a commitment to divest from fossil fuel intensive industries where divestment fits in with the fiduciary duty of ensuring investments perform well some of the practical steps finance teams can take to progressively divest.
